Historic House

In the past 4 years the Greene Co. Museum has brought a historical home that had set vacant & was deteriorating back to life as we imagine it was during the time Greene Co's only governor (J. Marion Futrell & his family built this home) We see our museum as a way to preserve Greene Co. History and to prevent valuable historical items from being forgotten.

Art, General, History, Historic House, Military

Our museum is a dream come to. When we first organized we had no money and no definite place for a museum. A local Bank gave us an older home which was built by the only man from Greene Co. Ar. to ever serve as Governor of Ar. (1933-1937) His name was J. Marion Futrell. The home is 100 years old in 2008 and it took us 4 years to restore the home. We opened to the public on Jan. 12, 2008.
