The mission of the Jacobsburg Historical Society is to preserve the art and industry of making early American firearms, and the character of the individuals and community that created and sustained that enterprise.
The Society was founded in 1972 to preserve and interpret the historical Henry family estate and early industrial properties, the family's gun and iron making heritage and to help establish the Jacobsburg National Historic District.

Your visit starts with a 13-minute orientation video at the Visitor Center, which also features exhibits to explore. To visit the Historic 19th Century Village, guests can either walk or drive two blocks to the Feast Hall at 1401 Church Street, where their tour of the historic site begins. Tickets must be purchased at the Museum Store located in the Feast Hall building. A portion of the site is guided by a docent, with two half-hour tours typically offered—one focusing on the Rapp Houses and the other on the buildings along Cobblestone Street. All other areas are self-guided. Visitors should plan to spend approximately two hours exploring the site.
